Roland Kjelland was appointed Executive Vice President of Kaiser Steel Corporation of Oakland, California in 1977. He joined the Kaiser Corporation upon graduating from the University of Michigan in 1950. He served on the Board of Directors of Hamersly Holdings, Ltd., Melbourne, Australia, on of the largest, Vancouver, Canada, the largest coal mining facility in Canada.

Mr. Kjelland has been progressing steadily to his present position. In the fall of 1980, the Board of Directors of Kaiser Steel elected Roland Kjelland as President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Kjelland has been with the organization for thirty years.
