Olson, Vince

Vince is a 1958 graduate of VCSU. He served with the 7th Infantry Division in Korea from 1951-52 and was a member of the Army National Guard for 12 years. Now retired, Vince worked as a funeral director and owner of his own business before becoming co-owner/manager of the Peterson/Olson Funeral Home in Valley City.
Vince has been very active in civic affairs. He served as president of the North Dakota Funeral Director’s Association, president of the Valley City Chamber of Commerce, commander of the VFW, member of the American Legion, master of the Masonic Lodge, president of the Valley City Athletic Club, president of the Valley City Park Board, chairman of the Valley City Centennial Parade, and served three terms in the North Dakota State Legislature from District 24.
Vince has been honored with the Hometown Builders Award, the Valley City Hi-Liner Award, the Distinguished Service Award from the ND Optometry Association, and the Award of Appreciation from the Valley City High School Athletic Department.
Vince and his wife, Dorothy, are the parents of five children: Elizabeth, Linda, David, Connie and Daniel. All five are graduates of Valley City State University. Vince and Dorothy also have seven grandchildren.
